This has got to be one of my favorite restaurants I've ever been to! I've never had Burmese food before and this was amazing. If you like Thai and Indian food, I feel like this is a nice cross in between those two cuisines. We ordered the tea leaf salad (omg best salad I've ever had, and I'm usually not a big salad person), Burmese style chicken curry, black pepper lamb, and garlic noodles with chicken. Everything was sooo good!! It was the perfect spice level when we chose medium spice. We ended up ordering another entree of Burmese style chicken curry because it was too good and we wanted leftovers. The service was amazing too. Servers were very attentive, said bye to us as we were leaving, and I believe it was the manager who opened the door for us on our way out. We just ate there today and I already want to eat there again. I live 30 minutes away from here but I would make the drive easily!

My dad is from Burma and he loved that there was a restaurant like this in the area. Everything was delicious and fresh. Good variety of menu items, and a lot of fusion dishes (Thai, Chinese, Indonesian style) as well. The owner stopped by people's tables and we felt taken care of! My overall rating is 4.5 out of 5 stars. * Tea leaf salad - one of my favorites! Light, crispy, fresh, with a nice balance of crunchy textures. The tea flavor wasn't as prominent as other burmese restaurant tea leaf salads that I've tried, but I still really liked it. * Palatha with chicken coconut curry - the palatha was buttery and warm, and paired excellently with the curry. The curry flavor was rich and chicken was very tender. Would order this again. * Basil & Chili Lamb - the ladies at the table next to us asked what we ordered because it looked so good! We shared some with them and the first thing they noticed was how tender the lamb was. Similar to Chinese stir-fried lamb dishes and full of flavor. Recommend ordering jasmine rice to eat it with. * Nan Gyi Dok - my least favorite of everything; I think the noodle texture after absorbing the curry sauce was a bit too creamy for my liking. However my dad enjoyed it and said it's pretty authentic. Plenty of parking and tables inside. The restaurant had a steady flow of customers and their high rating is well-deserved. I don't live in the area, but my parents were already thinking of friends to bring here!

First time having Burmese food. Enjoyed the restaurant: attentive, friendly service and extensive menu. I am a noodle gal so I got the Burmese Noodles with tofu. A bit spicy for me but I'm a wimp, sooo..... I had enough to take home and have for lunch the next day. Next time (and there WILL be a next time), I'll try the Lemongrass Chicken.

Food was great. Overall it was delicious. Side salad was a nice surprise from what you normally get in these type of restaurants. Loved it.

I have been here before with a party of 6 and had a good time. This time we had a large party of 17 to celebrate 3 birthdays. The restaurant was very accommodating. - We were not restricted to a limited menu - They were able to split the bills Our server Curtiss was very friendly, helpful and efficient. A few people had food allergies and preferences and he was able to tell us what was/wasn't in the food. We ordered family style for the food and Curtiss was great on suggesting good dishes so we had a nice variety and options for everyone. The food came out quickly and tasted great, everyone enjoyed the dishes and the variety of food. The other staff members were friendly and efficient. A wonderful evening was had by everyone. Thank you Curtiss and Burma Light, we will be back.

I stopped here because I was starving and I thought we weren't going to be eating until much later in the day. So I over ordered and the business over delivered on flavor! The star of the meal was the Burmese Iced Tea. Like Thai Tea but a deeper flavor and so delicious. I would go back just for this. But the food was really good too. I loved the garlic noodle as well as the Tea Leaf Salad. I took everything to go, but the space was really nice. Maybe a little cramped if it was full, but still wonderfully appointed with nice fixtures. This would be a good first date night type of place. Not too fancy but not a greasy formica experience either. I will definitely be back to try more Burmese food. I mistakenly called it Burmesean food and my wife corrected me. Side note: they have a good handful of Gluten Free options as well. Which is great because my buddy is a Celiac.

If writing a review induces feelings of joy and anticipation for the next visit, you already know the spot is worthy! It took us a while to get around to trying the place as we're from the Bay Area and had some great Burmese spots there. We had no expectations and were pleasantly impressed by everything we ate and already look forward to trying more options. We're so glad the Folsom food scene now includes this unique cuisine (done quite authentically) to expand the repertoire of culinary options in our little city.

Amazing everything!! We got the plata and coconut curry dip, pad Thai, and Burmese chicken curry and everything was so fresh and delicious! The flavors were vibrant and the spices added to the dish instead of being spicy for the sake of being spicy. It was the perfect service as well. Our server and hostess were super nice and welcoming and refilled our drinks many times without asking and checked in at the appropriate moments. I love that they use large pieces of chicken which shows that the food is again fresh. The plata and dip had the perfect flavor and the dip was a huge portion which is so appreciated. The restaurant was also so clean which is such a great sign of how they run their business. The best part was that all the dishes were a great deal especially for the portion sizes. We were also given the option to pay using our phone by scanning a QR code which I love. I will absolutely be back!

OMG! Hands down our favorite new restaurant! If you haven't tried Burma Light yet, what are you waiting for? Get there NOW! Very quickly and warmly welcomed and seated. Overall, service was outstanding by all who came by our table, but especially from our waiter Curtiss. I was absolutely astounded by the fact that we were seated, ordered and were enjoying our hot, fresh food in less than 20 minutes. On a Friday evening to boot. They do not mess around here! I always want to try all the things, but tried to keep it in check on this first visit. We went with the Tea Leaf Salad, Burma String Beans, Black Pepper Beef, Dry Curry Chicken and Coconut Rice. Everything was SO DELICIOUS! Such deep, incredible flavors. Just wow! My favorite was definitely the beef. Holy cow! How do they make it taste so good?! We had plentiful leftovers for lunch, as well ~ two very filling meals for two people. The space itself is unassuming from the outside (it's in a strip mall just off East Bidwell) but is really lovely, modern and clean inside. As I told one of the staffers (perhaps the proprietor?) on our way out, this was our first visit and will definitely not be our last. Burma Light will certainly be in regular rotation for us. How fortunate Folsom is to have this fabulous restaurant in our town!
